Incorporating WiFi Technology In Surveillance Camera Systems

Wireless Fidelity(WiFi) is the obvious step in advancing the technology threshold in surveillance camera systems. For years security camera manufacturers have been doing their best to hide less than secure wire mounts, and wired systems leading from the camera units themselves. Wireless systems are far more secure, as it will take more than a simple snip of the wire to interrupt signal flow. In addition, the lack of bulky wire systems that often require installation at the time of building construction are quickly becoming a thing of the past. With a wireless camera set up you can add a new camera whenever, and wherever you want, sometimes even to an existing wired system.

Another consideration with Wifi technology is budget. Once it was dramatically more expensive to install a wireless system. However trends show wireless technologies becoming much cheaper, while wired systems are becoming more expensive as consumers tighten their belst on physical manufacturing expenses.

Even some all-wired security suites are getting an effective, and simple, boost by adding a few extra “roving” wireless cameras. Cameras that can be repositioned regularly by the staff on hand, and can operate on a different channel than the existing archaic wired security systems.
